The environmental Programs of the Ruiter Valley Land Trust (RVLT)- Québec

The faune sans frontières in the Appalachian Chain Program supports students to discover and connect with nature in the trans-border area of the Appalachians in Quebec and Vermont. This complex eco-region is unique; it is home to great mammals, rare plants, species at risk, non fragmented, and old growth forests, greenways and people who care about conservation.
To create a community that cares about the protection and conservation of our forests and natural heritage we need to promote environmental education as a tool of creating that necessary awareness and commitment.
Our program focuses on forest ecology and the protection of greenways.

  1. On Monday January 31th, 21 students from The Knowlton Academy in Wendy Harvey' class, had their first Scientific detective training. They studied what special about where they live! They had a presentation about the Appalachians and they studied mammals through a game with the great animal's fur and feet collection of the Ruiter Valley Land Trust.
